What we do

Our purpose: supporting everyone to develop positive mental wellbeing, live well and thrive!

We're Solent Mind

We’re sometimes called a ‘local branch’, but we’re actually an independent registered charity. Solent Mind is part of a network of over 100 Local Minds who tailor trusted mental health services to our communities. We set our own strategies, partnerships and rely on the support of our brilliant local fundraisers.

We collaborate with Mind to make sure their pioneering campaigns, information and research makes a difference in Hampshire. Together, we make better mental health possible both locally and nationally.

Winchester Wellbeing Centre offers an informal environment for activities, workshops and 1:1 emotional support to improve mental health. The centre is part of the larger Hampshire Wellbeing Service, commissioned by Hampshire County Council and delivered in partnership with Andover Mind and Havant & East Hants Mind. Recent service developments have integrated our support into GP surgeries and introduced digital wellbeing resource, Togetherall.

Winchester residents can also access NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire and take part in peer support groups and activities.

Eastleigh has been home to the headquarters of NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire, formerly italk, since 2010. The service which is delivered in partnership by Solent Mind and Southern Health, is part of a national NHS plan, NHS Talking Therapies. Together which other regional services across the UK, talking therapies services treat more than a million people each year.

Round the corner, Eastleigh Wellbeing Centre offers an informal environment for activities, workshops and 1:1 emotional support to improve mental health. The centre is part of the larger Hampshire Wellbeing Service, commissioned by Hampshire County Council and delivered in partnership with Andover Mind and Havant & East Hants Mind. Southampton is home to our administrative head office, where our senior management team and board of trustees oversee our operations across Hampshire.

Southampton is also the thriving centre of our Peer Support service, offering friendly and informal groups to share experiences and support others through hobbies and interests like art, walking, photography or even rock climbing.

Nestled in the beautiful Mayfield Park lies social enterprise Mayfield Nurseries, a working garden centre and plant nursery with a special purpose. All profits raised from the sale of plants go towards horticultural therapies and 1:1 support, giving people with mental health issues or dementia an opportunity to learn new skills, connect with others and spend time in nature.

Mayfield is also home to Plants for People; an innovative project which gives residents of social housing estates the guidance and tools to improve their open spaces, get to know their neighbours and create safe spaces to grow, learn and improve their wellbeing.

New Forest Wellbeing Service offers an informal environment for activities, workshops and 1:1 emotional support to improve mental health across two Centres located in Hythe and New Milton.

The centre is part of the larger Hampshire Wellbeing Service, commissioned by Hampshire County Council and delivered in partnership with Andover Mind and Havant & East Hants Mind. Recent service developments have integrated our support into GP surgeries and introduced digital wellbeing resource, Togetherall.

The New Forest is also home to children and young persons education service, Heads Up. Led by those with their own lived experiences of mental health issues, the team provides classroom and assembly talks and workshops in schools and colleges to encourage students to care for their wellbeing.

New Forest residents can also access NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire and take part in peer support groups and activities.

Fareham & Gosport Wellbeing Service is part of the larger Hampshire Wellbeing Service, commissioned by Hampshire County Council and delivered in partnership with Andover Mind and Havant & East Hants Mind. Recent service developments have integrated our support into GP surgeries and introduced digital wellbeing resource, Togetherall.

Together in 2015, Solent Mind and Solent NHS Trust developed and established the Portsmouth Support and Recovery Service; a pioneering integrated service bringing together clinical services and peer led support. Staff from both organisations co-deliver proven recovery models through the Solent Recovery College, PositiveMinds, Community Peer Recovery Team and Portsmouth Employment Support services.

Portsmouth is also home to dementia support service, Remind. In collaboration with Rowans Hospice and Solent NHS Trust, the trusted service supports dementia suffers, their carers and loved ones to maintain independence and connect with their community.
