Upturn

Upturn works young people and their families in Fareham and Gosport to provide mental health support and education, through classroom-based workshops, small groups and one to one sessions.

We'll listen, give you help and advice, and fight in your corner through issues like depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, low self-esteem, social anxiety and more. At your first appointment, we will assess your needs and work with you to set goals that are achieved though our tailored, confidential options:

  • Information & signposting
  • One-to-one appointments with trained Wellbeing Workers
  • Short courses and structured groups
  • Parent and Carers support
  • Family Wellbeing sessions
  • Ongoing support through our programme for 18-30 year-olds

We also provide tailored educational sessions and workshops for staff and pupils at local schools and colleges, covering subjects such as exam stress, anxiety and transitioning to new schools.

Who is it for?

You can self refer to Upturn if you are 14-18 years old and live in the Fareham and Gosport area.

You can also self-refer to our dedicated 18-30 group to receive ongoing support.

If Upturn is employed to work with a local school, we are able to work with students aged 11 and upwards within the school setting.

In some cases, Upturn might not be the right service for you. In such cases, we’ll always try to signpost you to other suitable services.

Information for Professionals

Along with the self-referral options above, we also accept:

  • Referral from Fareham or Gosport-based GP practices
  • Referral from other local mental health services such as CMHT or CAMHS
