Mayfield Nurseries is a working plant nursery, selling a range of award-winning plants at affordable prices. Every penny made is ploughed back into horticultural therapies to support people experiencing mental health issues at our nursery.
As a member of the public, you can visit Mayfield to discover and purchase bedding plants, roses and perennials to fruit bushes, vegetable plants and garden essentials; all lovingly cared for by people with mental health issues. We also have a café and outdoor seating area, which is perfect for taking in our beautiful surroundings or a breather with the dog before enjoying a walk along the River Itchen.
Our horticultural therapies provide a place for people with mental health issues and learning disabilities to develop new skills and be part of a supportive, friendly community. Planting, pruning and spending time in nature makes dramatic improvements to people's emotional health, confidence and self esteem, whilst group work helps people overcome isolation, anxiety and loneliness. A full list of groups and services can be found on Mayfield's website.
You must be registered with a GP surgery in Southampton.
