Winchester Wellbeing Centre

Move forward with groups, workshops and 1:1 emotional support to improve your wellbeing in the heart of Winchester.

Our network of recovery-focussed Wellbeing Centres offer safe spaces to be yourself and get back on track through courses, workshops, activities and 1:1 emotional support.

Through an initial telephone assessment, we'll work with you to set goals for your time with us and find the right courses to help you work towards them. We can also assist by signposting you to local services for any additional support needs, like housing, benefits, counselling, crisis support or other specific needs.

During your time with us, you will have a key worker who will speak with you at appropriate times throughout your journey with us, to review and agree next steps. Our courses include Anxiety Management, Self-Esteem, Anger Management, amongst other relevant groups, such as Peer Support. Please see our programme for more details.

We also have a monthly E-Zine, 'A Little Piece of Mind', which contains useful wellbeing tools, activities and tips, that all our Service Users can subscribe to.

Please note – we do not offer counselling, therapy or crisis support.

Who is it for?

You can self-refer to the Wellbeing Centre if you are aged 18 or over, have a GP in the Winchester area and are experiencing mental health problems like anxiety,  low mood or low self esteem or depression.

If you are currently supported by a local Community Mental Health Team or Acute Mental Health Team, please speak to your Care Co-ordinator or other lead professional so they may refer you directly to us.

Our support is not counselling. Instead, we give you the tools to take action, learn how to manage your wellbeing and widen your network of support.

Information for professionals

Along with the self-referral options above, we also accept:

  • Referrals from Winchester-based GP practices
  • Referrals from Community Mental Health Team or Acute Mental Health Teams

CMHT and AMHT referrals require a risk assessment in addition to our Agency Referral Form. Our support can be offered to patients as an element within a wider care plan, but is not appropriate as a sole-replacement for secondary care.
