The independent review of the Mental Health Act have opened a survey to gather the views of people that have been detained, and/or have cared for someone that has been detained, under the Mental Health Act.
The independent review is commissioned by the Government and its job is to:
– Look at how the legislation is currently used
– Look at its impact on service users, families and staff
– Make recommendations for improving the legislation and related practices
This is an important opportunity to ensure that the voices of people with experience of the Act are heard, and influence the recommendations the Review makes about improving the law and related practices.
