Solent Mind, the local mental health charity, is celebrating national Mental Health Awareness week (14th-20th May) with a range of activities across Hampshire.
During the week, staff and volunteers will be at the Hampshire Festival of the Mind at Portsmouth Cathedral, the University of Southampton’s ‘Wellfest’ event, and Places for People Gyms in Eastleigh, Gosport and Winchester, showing the positive effects of getting active on our mental health.
The Solent Mind Sitting Room, complete with sofas and cosy cushions, will be visiting Cascades shopping centre on the 16th May, and Fareham shopping centre on the 25th and 26th May, encouraging people to sit down and have a chat with our wellbeing teams.
Our Art and Running Groups at Fareham Wellbeing Centre will be scattering decorative stones with messages of hope and support across their local area – if you find one, please send us a picture on Twitter (@SolentMind).
The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is “Stress – are we coping?”. Our italk talking therapies team will be holding free stress workshops in Lymington, Gosport, Eastleigh and Havant. You can book your place by visiting www.italk.org.uk.
