Mayfield Nurseries, a working plant nursery and a part of local mental health charity Solent Mind, is proud to announce its grand reopening on Tuesday 6th of November. The celebration event follows weeks of work by staff, volunteers and service users together with Southampton City Council, to enhance the site with new-look plant displays and a newly tarmacked drive.
The nursery in Mayfield Park, Southampton sells a range of award winning plants at affordable prices. Every penny raised is ploughed back into helping people with mental health issues at Mayfield.
Solent Mind CEO Kevin Gardner will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30pm, kicking-off a week of 10% plant discounts. Rachel Hampton, manager of Mayfield Nurseries, says, “We have so many loyal customers who visit us to buy their plants, knowing they are supporting their local mental health charity, and we wanted to give something back by improving the site. We hope people will pop along this week to see all our improvements and what a lovely place Mayfield is to buy your plants from.”
The refurbishment is a start in a process to make Mayfield Nurseries a sustainable social enterprise to improve the mental health and wellbeing of local people.
