Kate Blake, Community Fundraising Officer at Solent Mind, said “We are thrilled with this news and are very much looking forward to working with Westquay in the coming year to help shoppers and staff learn more about mental health wellbeing. We will be holding a series of events over the next few months to talk to people about mental health issues that worry them and local Solent Mind services that can help. As a charity, we will also be raising funds to support our vital work helping people with mental health issues.”
Westquay General Manager, Andy Collyer adds, “We are delighted to announce our new charity partnership with Solent Mind. Each year at Westquay, we select local charities to support and help raise awareness for all the fantastic work they do in the community. Solent Mind is a great cause whose work addresses issues around mental health and provides people with services that can really help. We hope our collaboration with the charity will help people to be even better informed about their wellbeing and help to challenge stigma.”
The partnership will focus around a number of events across the year, beginning with an awareness raising event on Sunday 5th of March, encouraging people to speak about mental health concerns and seek support.
