We have launched a new website to provide more support to local people experiencing mild to moderate depression and anxiety. Our italk team – an initiative with Solent Mind and Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust – are delighted to unveil its new online resource to highlight the importance of seeking early help for conditions such as depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder and social phobias.

The website at www.italk.org.uk provides information on the psychological therapies available for local people including guided self-help, employment support, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and lifestyle advice.

As part of the Government’s national ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) initiative, the italk service is accessible to anyone over the age of 16 via referral from their GP.

Di Kitson from the italk team said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new website. It provides a useful resource for local people seeking help and support with stress, tiredness, isolation, fear, tension and low moods and is a first port call for anyone looking for information about these issues.”

Hazel Nicholls, also from the italk team, added: “The support offered by our team of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Cognitive Behaviour Therapists and Employment Advisors ranges from individual face to face sessions and psycho-educational groups to telephone contact, web based support and signposting to other services and self-help materials. Anyone can visit the website to find our more information about these services and see for themselves how easy it can be to get support to begin to work on their problems.”
