We all pay attention how healthy our bodies are, but how often do you think about how healthy your mind is?
On this World Mental Health Day on 10th October, we want people to talk. Talk at work, talk at home, talk to Mind. Just talk about the things you always talk about, but most importantly talk about how you are feeling.
‘Be brave!’ says Richard Barritt, Chief Executive of Solent Mind, ‘What is it that you’ve wanted to say to someone – at work, in the family, to a friend or a neighbour – but have put off. There’s no better day than World Mental Health Day to take the plunge. Good communication usually pays off. Why not try it?’
Solent Mind is encouraging everyone to take 10 minutes out of their day to sit down and talk to the people that are around you.
There are several ways that you can get involved with Solent Mind’s campaign, organising a cake sale at your school or organising an office tea break at your place of work. By fundraising for Solent Mind, you can help them to provide information, advice and guidance to those that need them most and help the people around us feel better on the inside too.
You can also text to donate. Text ‘SLNT12 £2‘ to 70070 to give a £2 donation to Solent Mind to help us to provide information, advice and guidance to those that need us most.
