Fundraisers from Woodhouse Environmental Services and New Forest dog walking service, The Wolf Pack, donned their boots for a half-marathon hike and raised more than £600 for Solent Mind.
Eight walkers got together for a 13-mile trek along the beautiful trails of the New Forest. Eager to show their support for mental health in the region, they chose to raise money for our charity.
Blessed with sunshine on the day, the fundraising team completed their challenge after 6 hours. Although the heat of the day made it a struggle in places, the hikers said it was a pleasure to be able to raise money for such a great cause.
Daniel Fox, Woodhouse Environmental Services Managing Director, said: “I’m so proud of everyone. The heat made it tough going at times, but knowing we were raising money for such a worthwhile charity, was all the motivation we needed.
“Solent Mind provides support for anyone experiencing mental health issues in the local area, and I’m delighted that we can now pass over more than £600 to this fantastic charity. Thanks to everyone who sponsored us. You’ve been very generous.”
Gemma Robertson, owner of The Wolf Pack, said: “Both the Woodhouse and the Wolf Pack teams did so well, and we were spurring each other on along the way. We were also rewarded with pizza and cold drinks at the finish line to celebrate a job well done, which we were all very grateful for.”
Starting and finishing at The Vibrant Forest Brewery on the edge of the New Forest, the group of hikers completed their half-marathon walk at the end of June.
