We’re excited to announce the launch of a unique and meaningful opportunity at Solent Mind: we’re recruiting our first Ambassador.
This new volunteer role has been created following feedback from our staff and with the full support of our Board of Trustees. It’s part of our commitment to raising awareness of mental health and strengthening our connection with communities across Hampshire, including Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
Our Ambassadors will help us:
This is a rare opportunity - Solent Mind will only have a small number of Ambassadors, making this a highly visible and valued role.
We’re seeking someone with:
Lived experience of mental health challenges is welcomed but not essential.
We need help to find the right person to start the role in 2026 for just one day a month.
If you could introduce us to someone or would like to learn more about the role yourself, please contact Robert Wayman, Director of Fundraising, External Engagement & IT, at rwayman@solentmind.org.uk.
During Local Mind Week (4 - 10 August), we’re taking the opportunity to showcase how our services are supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing in the local area.
A National Lottery grant of £20,000 has ensured a Solent Mind Men’s Group can continue providing mental health support for men in the community.
The team of volunteers giving up their time for Solent Mind’s Remind dementia service, has been shortlisted for a Portsmouth Inspiring Volunteer Award.
