Throughout November, Let's Talk Mate and Solent Mind is encourage staff and public alike to take part in a 24-hour sponsored silence.
Did you know that three times more men than women to die by suicide, and yet only 36% of NHS talk therapy referrals are for men*?
Solent Minds men’s mental health chat, Let’s Talk Mate, is running a campaign throughout the month of November in the lead up to International Men’s Day (November 19th).
Rob Eamey, one of the Let’s Talk Mate hosts, said: “We started the podcast because we know that statistics show men are more likely to take their lives by suicide and that men are less likely to access mental health support. Let's Talk Mate is about inspiring men to talk up about their mental health by at the very least, getting them to listen to other men being open and honest.
“We hope the 24-hour sponsored silence not only raises money for Solent Mind but raises awareness of the importance of communication and being able verbally to express your feelings."
Rob will be taking part in the campaign and appearing on this month’s episode of the podcast to talk about his experience over the 24-hour period.
