Celsius Hire completes epic Three Peaks Challenge raising more than £5,800 for Solent Mind

9 members of staff from Celsius Hire bravely took on the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours. Their epic trek raised an incredible £5,864 for Solent Mind.

Nine people from the Celsius Hire team stood together for a photo on the mountain.

Ben Nevis

The team set off early in the morning on 7 September 2024, taking several trains from Eastleigh to Fort William in Scotland.

They were all smiles for their first climb, as blue skies and sunshine motivated them to hike 1,345m to the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK.

Scafell Pike

After a bumpy minibus ride to the Lake District, the Celsius Hire team wasted no time at all. With aching legs and only a few hours’ sleep, they parked up and set off early evening to conquer their second climb - Scafell Pike.

“The Three Peaks Challenge was a test of not just physical, but mental strength,” said Jake Revell, Sales and Marketing Director at Celsius Hire.

“I think the ups and downs you go through on this challenge and how you overcome them are very translatable to the mental health issues that Solent Mind supports.

“It was great to have a team to get you through when you are digging deep. This should also be the case in day-to-day life.

“If you are ever struggling mentally, lean on those around you to help support you and don’t go it alone.”

Snowdon

Their final challenge came in the early hours of Sunday morning. The team had only had a few hours’ sleep, but they still had to climb Snowdon to achieve their goal within 24 hours. Although it’s considered the ‘easiest’ of the three mountains, it was no mean feat as Snowdon is 1,085m! Through the wind and rain, the Celsius Hire team kept their smiles and positive attitudes.

We’re very pleased and so proud to say they completed their Three Peaks Challenge and raised an incredible £5,864 for Solent Mind’s mental health services, via their JustGiving page.

Senior Sales Engineer, Sean Johnson, said: “What a journey! The Three Peaks is something I’ve always wanted to attempt. To get the chance to do it for such a great cause was an absolute honour, and an opportunity I jumped at. I would do it again in a heartbeat - despite the agony and not being able to walk for days afterwards! Thanks for all the kind words, inspiration and most importantly the donations going towards such a fantastic cause.”

Director of Service Operations, Neil Payne, added: “From start to finish the team had a blast, every challenge and difficult moment was met with humour and bravery. Through night and day, wind and rain, the team strived forwards.

“These are the qualities that run throughout Celsius Hire and it was a joy to see them put to use for an amazing cause.”

We are so proud of the Celsius Hire team for their amazing efforts. Raising money through challenges like this helps us to support more people in Hampshire with their mental health and wellbeing.
