Volunteers' Week 2026 at Solent Mind
Last week was Volunteers' Week across the country, and Solent Mind celebrated our growing team of volunteers in our own individual way. Over 50 volunteers attended 6 events across Solent Mind, with activities ranging from quizzes and games to walks around Hythe Marina, afternoon teas, and excessive amounts of cake!
Volunteer recognition cards were given out, featuring Winchester/Eastleigh service user artwork and personalised messages. Solent Mind also partnered with charity Room to Reward to give our free nights away to volunteers. A big congratulations to Jackie from Mayfield and Southampton, Simon from Fareham and Gosport and Nita from the Remind team in Portsmouth.

Michelle, Volunteering Manager, said, "Volunteer numbers at Solent Mind have doubled in the last 2 years to over 150. Last year, volunteers donated over 13,000 hours, and Volunteer's Week is a great way to show their value and appreciate them. It's because of volunteers that we are able to support more people."
Thank you to all our volunteers.
