Dive into making a difference and take on this adrenaline-fueled challenge.

Skydiver with parachute

Skydive over Salisbury for Solent Mind!

Take your fundraising to new heights with a once in a lifetime skydiving experience. Choose from 10,000ft or 15,000ft and experience the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Skydive as a stand alone challenge with your friends and family cheering you on, or take part as a group and form your own team to take on the skies.

Both 10,000ft and 15,000ft options are tandem skydives, so you will have an experienced instructor with you the whole time. They'll be there to support you before the flight, all the way up, and safely back down to the ground again.

This goes towards the cost of your skydive, so that even more of the funds raised will go directly into supporting Solent Mind's mental health services. Your deposit can be held for up to 12 months, should you need to defer your skydive date.

We kindly ask that when you sign up, you agree to fundraise at least £450 if you choose to take on the £10,000ft challenge, or £550 for the 15,000ft challenge. Our friendly fundraising team will support you throughout your journey and help you achieve the best target you can. Your fundraised income (above the skydive fees) goes towards supporting our mental health services and projects across Hampshire.

FAQs

Are there any age restrictions?

All skydivers need to be aged 16 or over on the day of the event.

Is there a weight limit?

At GoSkydive the maximum weight for a tandem student is 18 stone (114kg) fully clothed with weight being in proportion to height. If you are between 15 (95kg) and 18 stone, you will need to contact us in advance to check your suitability to jump. Due to higher operational costs, there will be a surcharge for people over 15 stone. 15-16 stone £10 per person, 16-17 stone £20 per person and 17-18 stone £30 per person.

Please note it is a regulation that all jumpers are weighed upon signing in on the day of their jump and if they exceed 18 stone, they will be unable to jump.

Find out more about weight limits here.

What do I do if I have a medical issue?

Before anyone can skydive with us they need to read through the following declaration form:

115A Self Declaration British Skydiving Medical Form – please have a good read through this form and if anything applies you will need the below form signed before being able to skydive with GoSkydive.

If nothing listed in the above form applies to you, it is safe for you to skydive. You will need to sign this form upon check in on your event day. If anything in the above form is relevant, you will need to speak to your GP about the suitability of taking part, and have the below form signed by them to approve your participation.

115B Doctor’s Medical British Skydiving Medical Form – please get this signed by a Doctor/GP if applicable. GoSkydive cannot accept Dr’s letters or any other form of Doctor’s sign off.

Please note, to skydive with GoSkydive, you must be able to bear your own weight, and be able to lift your knees to your chest whilst seated. If you are unable, you will unfortunately not be able to skydive (despite a signed 115B form).

If you have purchased a tandem skydive or a tandem skydive voucher and your GP or the voucher recipients GP is not happy for you to jump, GoSkydive will issue a full refund on the production of the form signed by a medical professional.

How long does it take to skydive?

Tandem skydiving is a weather dependent activity therefore it is almost impossible for us to predict how long you will need to allow for your skydive experience. At 5pm the day before your jump GoSkydive will have a more accurate view of the weather for your jump day and will advise you accordingly and keep you updated, however the weather is very changeable and therefore we advise you allow the whole day for your tandem skydive experience.

Please note that when you sign up you will get an arrival time, however this does not guarantee how long your wait will be before you get to take to the skies.

What to expect on the day:

Arrival: Checking in at GoSkydive on your event day is quick and easy. Sign yourself in on one of the tables in the reception area and enjoy the café or picnic tables until your name is called.

Intro Video: Your group will get to watch an information video in the mini cinema, see highlights footage and learn all about the thrilling speeds you will be about to travel at through the clouds.

Kitting Up: Next time you are called it will be for 'kitting up'. Get dressed into your skydiving kit, with a GoSkydive blue jumpsuit (we recommend putting your Solent Mind t-shirt on over your jumpsuit, and under your harness) and head through to the simulated training room. Here you will have the chance to practice your jump position, suspended from your harness.

Departure Area: After your training you will wait in the departure area. Here is where you will meet your instructor, and if you opt for a media package, can record a pre-jump interview video.

Flight: When the plane is ready, your group will walk on and sit along the benches with your instructors. Here you will sit in front of your instructor, and your harnesses will be secured together. On your flight you will see views of the historical Wiltshire countryside, sights of pre-historic significance such as the Iron Age hill fort of Old Sarum, and you might even see the world heritage site of Stonehenge.

Freefall: When you reach your chosen height your instructor will position you both at the exit point and then your high adrenaline freefall will begin. You will be falling at about 125mph for around 30 seconds from 10,000ft or 60 seconds from 15,000ft. You may even pass through clouds.

Parachute Ride: At around 5,000ft your instructor will give you a tap on the shoulder and deploy your parachute, slowing you down quickly to around 30mph. Take in the epic views, and let your instructor know if you want to zig zag around the sky a little with some high speed turns.

Landing: As you float through the air to the landing area you will create wind under your parachute canopy and your instructor will gently guide you to the ground where you will land legs stretched out in a seated position.
