As part of our workplace series of training sessions for self-employed people and small businesses join Solent Mind and become a Mental Health First Aider.
This in-depth training is designed to raise the awareness of mental health in the workplace, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and teach attendees how to have confidence in conversations with those in need of support.
£300 per person
Training will take place remotely via Zoom.
This online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
• An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
• Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
• Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
• Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
• Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
Learning takes place through four live training sessions, with self-learning activities in between.

Training will begin promptly on start time and run for 2 – 2.5hours.
• In addition to the online training there will be around 7 hours of additional learning activities such as reading, watching videos and reflection.
• You must attend all four of the online training sessions and complete all the additional learning activities to qualify as a Mental Health First Aider.
• Learning takes place through four live training sessions, with self-learning activities in between.
• There will be 8-9 hours of online training and around 7 hours of additional learning activities such as reading, watching videos and reflection.
• You must attend all four of the online training sessions to qualify.
• Each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan
Solent Mind workplace wellbeing training is designed to provide self-employed people and small businesses with information, tools and techniques to support wellbeing. Everyone who completes the course gets:
• A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
• A manual to refer to whenever you need it
• A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
• A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
