Supporting Us

We are a charity and we rely on your generosity to help us help those who really need our services.  If you want to make a donation to us, you can choose to do this via our Just Giving link or if you prefer, you can send us a cheque!

Donations – online & manual

We have teamed up with Just Giving, the national organisation set up to make online charitable giving simple, secure and quick.  As well as making one off payments, you can set up regular contributions, or even create your own fundraising page to help us!

To donate online, please follow this link:

To donate manually, please complete the attached form and return to:

Solent Mind, 28 The Avenue, Southampton, SO17 1XN

Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a simple, tax effective way to give to Solent Mind from your pay. Because your donation is taken from your pay before tax is deducted it costs you less.

The Inland Revenue gives Solent Mind the tax it would otherwise have kept. Payroll Giving is extremely simple. You authorise your employer to deduct regular charitable donations from your pay using the donation form. Your employer then pays these donations to a Payroll Giving Agency approved by the Inland Revenue. Once your donation is set up, you don't have to do any more. Each week or month, as regular as clockwork, Solent Mind will benefit.

How do I start giving through the Payroll Giving system? Simply print the Payroll Giving form, fill it in and then return it to the address at the bottom of the form.

Volunteering

A gift of time is just as important as a direct financial contribution.  We wouldn’t be able to deliver our work without our volunteers.  If you can offer even a couple of hours a week to help make a difference, we would love to hear from you!

Our current volunteering opportunities:

We are looking for volunteers for italk, our new Improving Access to Psychological Therapies service and also for our Head Office, volunteering in the administration office. If you are interested, please download the role description which gives further details along with an application form. This can be returned the address detailed within the form.

Legacy Giving

Legacy GivingMany supporters choose to remember charities in their will. They see it as a logical extension of their lifetime support, and it has the added benefit that charities do not pay tax on the money they receive in this way.
Why legacies are so important to us?

This type of support will become a vital part of our funding for the future. The knowledge that money will be available to us in future years means that we can invest now in development work that will last more than one or two years. It is because of people like you who name Solent Mind in their will today, that in future years to come there will be funding available to continue our work.

Why everyone should have a will?

Many people never make a will because they assume everything will go to their spouse, partner or children but this isn't always the case. It's essential you make plans for your money you leave when you die, however large or small the amount may be. To make sure your money goes to the people you choose, you and your partner if you have one should both make a will.

What does a will cost?
Drawing up a will is very straightforward. A solicitor can help you draw up a will, you can find solicitors names in your local Yellow Pages. The fee for drawing up a will should be quite small, ask a solicitor how much they charge before deciding who to go to.

How can I reduce inheritance tax?

Any money you leave to your spouse or to a charity is not subject to inheritance tax. So by leaving a gift to Solent Mind, not only will you be helping us, you could also substantially reduce the amount of tax payable on your estate.

Inheritance tax is deducted from your estate when your will is proved. The amount is dependent on the net value of your estate and the current limit is set by the Inland Revenue. Your solicitor will be able to advise you.

Corporate support

Are you a local business looking to improve links into the community?  We need your support! One of our real strengths is the fact that our name is known across the county, and by showing corporate support, your business can only benefit!  If you are interested in potential partnership opportunities please email us at info@solentmind.org.uk
