What is HEADS UP?
HEADS UP is the result of one inspirational young woman called Abby Crowe, who's determination to prevent students today from experiencing the same difficulties and stigma she faced as a student with then undiagnosed Bi Polar, has led to colleges and universities from across Southampton and Hampshire signing up to become part of the HEADS UP project.

HEADS UP aims to:
- raise awareness of mental health issues within colleges and univeristies
- create student peer support groups in each college and university
- provide an easier route to relevant information, peer and community support for students experiencing mental health difficulties
- help students undertake fundraising activities within each college and university to support the future of the project and the development of innovative and practical ways to support our mental health in the future
- provide this generation of students with the knowledge they need about mental health to help ensure mental health stigma becomes a thing of the past and that our mental health is well supported in future generations to come.

The HEADS Up project is in it's very early stages and is being set up and run totally by volunteers and students with their own experiences of mental illness. If you would like to be involved in the project or get more information about it please email Abby at acrowe@solentmind.org.uk and she will contact you as soon as she can.
(Please bear with her, Abby is volunteering her time and the demand and support for this project has been huge, which only serves to demonstrate how much it is needed by students, colleges and universities today.)
