We offer employment support services across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth to a wide range of people. These include:
Vocational Advice, Portsmouth
What is Vocational Advice? Our Vocational Advice Service helps people with severe and enduring mental health problems to access or remain in work. Dedicated Vocational
Advisors work on a one-to-one basis, offering advice, information and support to individuals, their Care Managers and where necessary to employers. Services are tailored to suit the individual, but could include:
- Personalised job hunting e.g. speculative approach to employers, CVs, job applications preparing for interviews
- Accessing benefit advice, going to the Job Centre and seeing the Disability Employment Advisor
- Vocational assessment to help identify suitable work and the steps needed to achieve this
- Looking at education and training opportunities
- Liaising with employers to find work and in-work support
- Looking for voluntary work and work placements
- A "sounding board" for work related issues
- Linking with other services who can give advice in specific areas beyond our expertise
Who can access the service? Adults aged 18-65 who are under the care of Community Mental Health Teams.

IAPT Employment Services – We offer a dedicated Employment Advice service across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth working within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies teams
italk – Our dedicated Employment Advisors work with people across Eastleigh, Havant, Gosport, New Forest and Test Valley who come into our italk service who are in employment but need extra support around their jobs.
