Walking Group Volunteer

Location: Winchester Wellbeing Centre
When: from July/August 2016 until further notice
Commitment Required: 3 – 4 hours per week on a weekday morning. The walking group currently takes place on a Tuesday morning but an alternative time could be considered

At the Wellbeing Centre we encourage physical activity as a means of improving mental wellbeing. The walking group is an important part of our programme and we need help to ensure it is able to run on a weekly basis.

As a Walking Group Volunteer you will accompany a group of service users from the Wellbeing Centre on walks around the city of Winchester to encourage physical activity and social interaction

You will have the opportunity to meet a diverse group of people, both service users and staff. You will gain knowledge of working with people with mental health issues to aid their recovery and maintain wellbeing. There will be opportunities for on-going training and personal development.
