One in four of us will suffer from a mental health problem at some time in our lives.
Solent Mind is a local mental health charity providing services to 12,000 people across Hampshire and the Solent area. We support people to achieve better wellbeing, through a range of services delivered by more than 200 staff and volunteers. Affiliated to (but independent of) Mind, the national association for mental health, we are also a campaigning charity and focus attention on the discrimination that people with mental health problems still face. Our current revenue is £6 million.
The Charity is now looking to appoint a Treasurer to succeed the current Treasurer who has completed their term of office.
As Treasurer you will oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements to assure exemplary fiscal control. The Treasurer is responsible for the overview of all the accounting information provided by the Finance Director and his team for the Trustees. As Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee you will scrutinise the detail provided and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
Time commitment required is 8 – 10 hours per month.
The role is challenging and stimulating and could provide an opportunity for continuing professional development.
If you have a financial background and an interest in mental health and wellbeing and would like to apply for the role of Treasurer, we would ask you initially to submit your CV with a brief explanation of why you are interested in in this role to Cheyenne Mascall at email@example.com
