One in four of us will suffer from a mental health problem at some time in our lives. We are currently recruiting for a trustee who has the desire and drive to use their skills and experience to play a leading role in an organisation which provides real, practical help.
Solent Mind is a local mental health charity providing services to 12,000 people across Hampshire and the Solent area. We support people to achieve better wellbeing, through a range of services delivered by more than 200 staff and volunteers. Affiliated to (but independent of) Mind, the national association for mental health, we are also a campaigning charity and focus attention on the discrimination that people with mental health problems still face.
Solent Mind seeks to have among its Trustees a range of experience and expertise, including one or more of the following:
• Fundraising and marketing
• Public Relations
• Financial management
• HR management
• Digital Marketing
If you feel you have a contribution to make as a Trustee / Director, particularly if you have expertise in any of the above areas or mental health policy/practice and can demonstrate a commitment to Solent Mind and its aims and values, we would be delighted to hear from you.
As well as a main board which meets 6 times a year, we have sub committees for Audit, Finance & Remuneration; Strategy & Development and People & Quality. Being a Trustee is a voluntary position, but legitimate expenses including travel to meetings can be paid.
For an informal discussion, please contact Cheyenne Mascall on 02382 027828.
If you would like to apply, we would ask you initially to submit your CV with a brief explanation of why you are interested in becoming a Trustee / Director to firstname.lastname@example.org
