Solent Mind is a registered charity providing a wide range of commissioned and grant funded services in and around the Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth region. We also carry out work out of area on occasions.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?
Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you. For example, it can include information such as your name, email address, postal address and telephone number
We generally only collect Data that you have given us, or that you have consented to be given to us by a third party (i.e. a GP or Health / Social Worker)
We will use your data to:
- Provide you with the services, products or information you asked for
- Keep safe records of any treatment or support we give to you
- Process your donation or support your fundraising activity
- Keep a record of your relationship with us
- Manage your marketing and membership preferences
With your consent, we may contact you to let you know about the work that we do, and to ask for financial and non-financial support. Our forms have clear preference questions.

Do we sell or share personal details?
We do not sell or share personal details about our supporters with third parties for the purposes of their own marketing.
We do sometimes share personal Data with our Service delivery Partners. These include other Third Sector care and support organisations, Local Authorities where Services are commissioned by them and NHS trusts where we deliver services in Partnership. In all cases we seek to get your consent to share at the point of entry to a service.
How do we use financial information?
If you are making a donation or payment with a Debit or Credit card via the Solent Mind website, please be assured that we take security very seriously. With this in mind, rather than process our own donations or payments we use Just Giving. For more information on Just Giving’s security please visit their website at www.justgiving.com
What are log files?
Another type of information that we collect is standard log files on our web server. Log files are not personal data but are types of information that help us to assess usage and usability of our website. This information may include the IP address of your computer but please be assured that we will not try to trace your email address.

What security precautions do you have in place to ensure that my data is not altered or misused in any way?
When you give Solent Mind information about yourself, we take every means to ensure that it is securely processed and stored. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we do our utmost to protect your personal information, we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you therefore do so at your own risk. Once we receive your email or message, we do our best to ensure that it is securely stored.
