NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire

Talking therapies and practical wellbeing support over the phone, online or in groups in Winchester, Eastleigh, the New Forest, Fareham and Gosport. Formerly known as italk.

NHS talking therapies Hampshire (formerly known as italk) provides free, tailored treatments for people with mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing difficulties, using evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

CBT empowers people to identify thoughts and behaviours that keep them from feeling better. We'll teach you practical skills to break free of these cycles to reduce symptoms of depression or anxiety.

You can access NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire via self-referral or through your GP. After assessing your needs, the team will guide you to a range of flexible support, such as:

  • 1:1 treatments over the phone or online
  • Face to face and online groups and workshops
  • Our online self-help course, SilverCloud
  • Specialised support for those experiencing employment issues, new parents or long term health issues such as Diabetes, COPD or Fibromyalgia

NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire service is commissioned and delivered in partnership with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Services we offer

Peer Support

NHS Talking Therapies offers peer support for patients while they are on the waiting list for therapy. Our team all have their own lived experience as service users. We provide a non-judgemental listening ear and use our lived experiences to help patients determine their own strengths and develop healthy coping strategies.

Peer Support provides:

One to one support over six sessions (approximately three months).

Peer Support Group: Every second Wednesday afternoon currently. We are aiming to expand to cover mornings and evenings.

Patient Feedback

‘Peer support group made me know that I am not alone and there are people going through the same thing I am going through, and we can support each other. That is why it was helpful for me’.

‘The calls provided me with a safe space to talk about everything that was going on in my life and with my thoughts and feelings around it all. It was like speaking to a great friend.

We listen, connect and inspire hope authentically, through our lived experience.
