I was absolutely delighted to be invited to present at Solent Mind’s Wellbeing Centre this Saturday, where I shared simple, practical techniques with the gorgeous users of the Eastleigh and Winchester centres. The techniques were about overcoming depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence and much more.
I myself suffered terribly with these emotions and on recovering, it became my passion to share the tools that had worked in my own recovery with others.
Sharon and Mandy from the centre welcomed us with warming smiles and hot beverages on arrival and throughout the workshop.
There was so much to talk about on the day. We started off with a little bit about my journey to recovery. And then swiftly moved on to the techniques. To start with 5 simple things we can all do for free that help our mind wellbeing.
We also discussed why these things help us feel happier; We a talked about how we talk to ourselves and the pictures we create in our mind can either bring us down, or easily lift us up.
We finished off the session with some deep relaxation which flooded the body with calmness and relaxation.
The workshop was carried out in safe, supportive, encouraging environment.
It truly made my day seeing everyone happy and smiling and to hear about how much all the lovely people had enjoyed and benefited from the workshop. I can see why Sharon and Mandy are passionate about their work. We hope to see you at future workshops at Eastleigh and perhaps Winchester.
