Free Mental Health Courses for Emergency Services Workers

Friday, 28 August 2015

Solent Mind are offering free mental health courses for staff and volunteers who work in the Police, Fire, Search and Rescue, Ambulance and Coast Guard. Working in the Emergency services brings a unique set of pressures and people who work in these services are less likely to get support.

Our course is for you if you’re currently feeling well and aren’t experiencing a mental health problem. During the course, you’ll build skills for coping with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, social pressures, and difficult emotions like anger.

By finding better ways to cope with these, there’s less danger of them developing into more serious mental health problems. It means you’ve a better chance of staying well, whatever the job – and life – throw at you.

Our next course:

  • Dates - 8th September  - 13th October
  • Location - Hampshire Fire and Rescue HQ, Leigh Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 9SJ
  • Time - Tuesday evenings from 18:00 – 20:30

What have people said about the course?

If there was another member of police staff thinking about taking the course, I’d really recommend it.

Having been on the course ... it’s been inspirational, invaluable and life-changing.
