Solent Mind is piloting an exciting new peer-led community navigation service to help adults with mental health issues access the support and services they need. Led by people with lived experience, this pilot service will work in communities in Southampton, to help combat barriers to support and recovery, and identify local needs. This pilot project will initially run until 30th November 2018.
We are currently recruiting for a:
Community Peer Navigator (Ref: CPNmay18)
£17,662 pro rata per annum (£9.18 per hour), SM PP15
Fixed term until 30th November 2018
15 hours per week, (days/times to be negotiated)
As a Community Peer Navigator, you will be using your own experiences of mental health issues to support, encourage and inspire people experiencing a mental health issue. You will use your skills and experience to:
- Work directly with people with mental health issues in group and one to one settings, including identifying needs and making/receiving referrals.
Lead drop-in outreach sessions in communities for people to access support and advice.
Recruit and support volunteers.
Working closely with other parts of Solent Mind, community groups, services and organisations to make and receive referrals, and explore support options for the communities you will be working in.
