Comic Relief helps people to bloom at Mayfield Nurseries

Friday, 10 February 2017

Mayfield Nurseries has been awarded a £39,820 grant from Comic Relief to help grow its mental health and dementia services to the Southampton community.

The Nurseries are a social enterprise project and subsidiary charity of Solent Mind, the local mental health charity. The grant awarded by Comic Relief will be spent over two years to help Mayfield continue to increase its services to people with mental health issues and dementia; there will be new gardening programmes, peer support projects and increased fundraising activities.

Rachel Hampton, Head of Service, Mayfield Nurseries said, “This is an incredible opportunity for us to be able to develop our services and we are very grateful to Comic Relief for their support. There are many people in the Southampton area facing mental health problems and dementia without the vital social support they need. We can now start bridging that gap.”
