Charity of the year award

Friday, 17 November 2017

We are delighted to have been chosen by NHS England South (Wessex) as their charity of the year for 2017/18.

Lisa Scott, community focus lead for the staff forum at the NHS England Wessex office (which covers Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Dorset) said, “We’re really looking forward to supporting Solent Mind over the coming year, not only by organising a range of fundraising events but also by donating time to volunteer for the charity. After seeing Solent Mind’s presentation, it’s clear that the charity provides a wide range of valuable services to improve mental wellbeing.”

Victoria Hall, Solent Mind Fundraising Manager, said, “We are so pleased that NHS England Wessex has chosen us as their charity of the year. As well as raising valuable funds for our local mental health services, and volunteering time to support and enhance our projects, we are looking forward to using our expertise to deliver workshops about good mental wellbeing with NHS staff.”

The Wessex local area office makes sure NHS England priorities are delivered locally and that people have access to high quality services. Southampton-based staff will be working in partnership with us over the coming year to help fundraise for us and get involved with volunteering activities.

Our Solent Mind partnerships are a great way for organisations to learn more about mental health and support our vital services. For an informal chat about how we could work with you, please contact our friendly team on 023 8202 7810 or email fundraising@solentmind.org.uk
