Beat the blues, Run Every Day January 2018

We’re proud to be working with Run Every Day (R.E.D) January 2018.

R.E.D January is a movement helping raise awareness and support for mental health through the power of exercise. Physical activity can be very beneficial for our mental wellbeing, as well as our physical wellbeing, and if you have a mental health problem the benefits of getting physically active are even more significant. This year (2018), Mind is R.E.D January’s charity partner.

Whether you decide to run or walk your way through January, there are no rules  -  the aim is to get active every day, while also raising vital funds to help make sure everyone with a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve. The R.E.D. challenge encourages you to set yourself a goal and kick-start the New Year in the best possible way. Whether you’re planning to run 5 minutes a day throughout January, or reach 100 miles in the month, there are no rules or restraints. The emphasis is on a flexible exercise schedule that celebrates every achievement, no matter how large or small.

R.E.D. facts:

  • Research suggest that regular exercise can have significant benefits to mental wellbeing and can decrease the risk of depression by 30%.
  • R.E.D. has participants in India, Vietnam, Oklahoma, Singapore, Europe and all around the UK.
